Star Wars: The Old Republic fastest growing MMO in history

Star Wars: The Old Republic has sold more than 2 million copies. The game studio BioWare and Electronic Arts can also boast of 1.7 million active subscribers.



Electronic Arts has released new statistics from the game Star Wars: The Old Republic. The production has sold more than 2 million copies a month since its launch. Work BioWare boasts 1.7 million active subscribers. Publisher argues that we are dealing with the fastest growing MMO game in the history of the genre.

You might wonder what happened to thousands of buyers from 300 games, who are active subscribers. Electronic Arts explains that some of these people do not have installed Star Wars: The Old Republic and the rest decided not to play. The company is pleased with the popularity of the title and argues that its success has exceeded expectations. It is worth noting that these figures relate to the period to 31 December 2011, so it really does not even show how many people subscribe prolonged the game after the first free month (ie in the second half of January).



It also provides several other figures about the game:

- Players spent more than 148 billion of loans in the game.

Electronic Arts has confirmed that the next big update will be released in the spring (in terms of continuation of the patch Rise of the Rakghouls, containing a bit of news). Meanwhile, in the next month, BioWare will organize a meeting for the heads of the guild. The event will take place in Texas from 4 to 6 March. Volunteers can register at the game. The manufacturer has stipulated that only a few will be invited. Fees for transportation and meals you have to pay on their own.
